Our shelter is located in the mountains. The terrain is rugged and the work can be very dirty. We ask that all our volunteers wear sturdy walking shoes and dress in old clothes that are appropriate for the weather. In October and November we recommend that you wear fluorescent orange or a bright color as this is hunting season. We ask that you bring your own drinks and snacks, if needed; in the summertime, please bring bug repellant. We walk dogs in all kinds of weather. If it is raining and you have signed up to volunteer, we expect that either you call to cancel or, better yet, come with a raincoat and boots on. The dogs still need attention!! Volunteering at the shelter is hard work but is so very rewarding too. The dogs really appreciate you!
